Caressant Care Harriston is a 30 bed Retirement home located in the North end of Wellington County in a quiet rural town. It is a single storey home that is only a 10 minute walk from the downtown where shopping, banking and restaurants are easily accessed.

We have a bright, inviting dining room in addition to our lounge and solarium where residents are encouraged to visit with each other after meals and during other free time. We have a puzzle table in the solarium and a crokinole board in the lounge, and both rooms have cable tv, a vcr and dvd player.

Meals are prepared by our Dietary staff and prepare in the Retirement Home kitchen. A majority of meals are made right from scratch, and snacks and fresh coffee or tea are provided at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Fresh fruit is also available 24 hours a day at the self-serve snack counter.

Our caring staff members are available to assist with bathing, bed changes, laundry and meal service. The activitiy staff provides enjoyable activites twice weekly with additional fun available in the adjacent Nursing Home lounges. The Friendly Diners Club occurs monthly giving our residents the opportunity to have family and/or friends join them for a special meal and entertainment. Residents are also encouraged to invite family and friends for a meal anytime. A nominal charge of $4 for lunch and $5 for supper applies.

Local physicians visit Caressant Care Harriston Retirement Home on a regular basis. Residents who have a physician in the area are able to maintain that relationship while those new to Harriston may choose a local Doctor for their care.

Tim Hortons is also located across the street for those who enjoy a short walk and a fresh coffee.
