The 2016 Caressant Care Nursing and Retirement Homes Quality Awards

Quality Improvement at Caressant Care

Quality Improvement is a proven and effective way to improve care for Residents and to improve practice for Staff. At Caressant Care we believe there are always opportunities to improve, streamline and optimize processes. Quality Improvement is a continuous process and journey, and a part of everyone's work.

Each Caressant Care Nursing Home site submits a Quality Improvement Plan to Health Quality Ontario annually, and develops action plans specific to the priorities of their site.

In 2015, we received our second, three year Accreditation Award with CARF. The mission of CARF is to promote the quality, value and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Our organization received acknowledgement as having a significant understanding and commitment to the quality of care for our Residents.

We are Inspected routinely by several government bodies such as the MOHLTC, Public Health, and Ministry of Labour, and we incorporate any deficiencies they identify into our action plans so that we ensure regulatory compliance.

Resident experience and listening to our Residents and their Families is an integral component of our Quality program. We are in the process of changing our satisfaction survey process to a Quality of Life survey for Residents and Families.
