Like Liz Graham from Fergus, Mary McKay decided to become a volunteer after her aunt left the Lindsay retirement home 3 years ago to go into long term care. It was during her regular visits with her aunt that she began to interact with the residents and found her purpose.

Monday mornings find Mary at the retirement home doing what she loves - calling BINGO. She helps to round up the residents who look forward to the game each week. She also comes to the home when there are special events.

"I love to see their smiles," says Mary. " know my being there helps the staff like activity coordinator Margaret. She's marvelous but certainly needs the help. That's what I do. If I see a need, I do it."

Mary also likes to help out on outings like going shopping or going to craft fairs.
