Caressant Care is committed to protecting the health and safety of our residents, employees, volunteers and suppliers and service providers.

In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to our residents and employees, Caressant Care is starting Active Screening for COVID-19.

The Active Screening process is based on our established infection control plans to prevent respiratory illness outbreaks like COVID-19.

Effective immediately - Active Screening will take place at the entrances to all Caressant Care long term care and retirement homes.

ALL employees and visitors will be screened at the front/main entrance.

Preventing the Spread of COVID-19

Our key preventative strategies for COVID-19 remain the same as our infection prevention and control practices for other respiratory illness outbreaks:

• Regular handwashing with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (if soap and water are not available);
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth;
• Good coughing etiquette (coughing or sneezing into your elbow or a tissue then throwing the tissue in the trash and washing your hands);
• Staying home if you are sick; and getting your flu shot. It is not too late to get your flu shot.
