2018 Heart of Gold Winner - Barbara Johnston

Each year Caressant Care Nursing and Retirement Homes selects one special employee as the winner of the Heart of Gold award. This honour is given to a staff member who truly goes above and beyond the call of duty and makes the lives of our residents just that much better.

We are proud to showcase this year's Heart of Gold recipient: Barbara Johnston, Dietary aide/cook Caressant Care Fergus Retirement Home.

The Fergus retirement home nomination committee was unanimous in their endorsement of Barbara: "Barb's care and passion shines through in her preparation of food. She puts a lot of creativeness into our menus. She has a unique way of celebrating each holiday and season! Barb spends the majority of her time off work thinking about what she can do next for our residents, by shopping for fun items to decorate for all different occasions and by creating centerpieces for each table. Every occasion here is celebrated beautifully due to Barb's creativity and caring heart."

The home celebrated Barbara's achievement with cake and flowers on March 8.

Thank you Barbara for all you do for the residents of Fergus retirement Home. You truly do possess a "Heart of Gold."
