Caressant Care:
Caressant
Care Nursing and Retirement Homes Limited was incorporated in September
of 1975, and began with the opening of Caressant Care Woodstock providing
long term care to 60 Residents. Since that time Caressant Care has expanded
and now owns and operates 15 Nursing Homes and 10 Retirement Homes. The
Retirement Homes are all adjacent to a Caressant Care Nursing Home, which
reflects our commitment to providing ongoing care within one facility making
the change from independence to the required nursing care less disruptive.
Corporate Mission Statement: Our mission
is to meet the identified needs of our clients, primarily elderly persons,
by providing integrated quality care and services in a specialized home-like
environment.

| The Homes of Caressant Care | Caressant Care Homes are located primarily in small towns in Ontario. Many residents are friends, neighbours and even family members of our staff. This small town neighbourliness is evident by the care, respect and helpfulness shown by all Caressant Care staff. |
| A Brief Explanation | The difference......Residents in a Retirement Home are more independent in their personal care requirements than Nursing Home residents. Residents in a Nursing Home are assessed by the professionals of each county's Community Care Access Centre. The care requirements of the individual are greater than can be provided for at home or in a retirement home. |
